An introduction to the concept of simulating buildings using ArchiCAD software allows accurate, realistic 3d pictures of design concepts, including furniture and landscaping. The software allows virtual reality walk through, perspectives with sun shading and calculation of material quantities and drafting of construction plans.

Entry Requirements

Sound computer knowledge is essential. If you are not competent using a computer you will not be able to start this course.

Student Instructions

Bring a blue or black pen, pencil and writing paper, highlighter pen, A Memory stick/USB flash drive for saving your work and taking your files home.

Topics

Setup, Drawing, Dimensioning, Layers, Objects, Scaling, Basic Renders. How to obtain and install version of the program will be discussed as part of the first lesson.

This course is a great pathway into industry as it is a pre-requisite skill for entry into Building Design and Architectural Careers. Industries that use ArchiCAD include Architecture, Draftspersons, Building Design, Interior Design and/or Technology, Builders
