This course is designed by Junko for absolute beginners who want to learn necessary travel phrases, how to pronounce place names, order meals, shop and how to get around. Full of fun activities that focus on speaking and listening skills. By the end of course you are ready to pack your bag!

Bring a blue or black pen, pencil and writing paper.

Topics

Japanese basic pronouciation, romanised Japanese (romaji-this helps to read Japanese place names). Necessary phrases for travel, daily greetings and expressions, introducing yourself, asking the time and and business hours, asking directions, ordering food, buying souvenirs.

Delivery style

In a practical method with students participating in role play, games and activities which makes the learning process fun and easy. The facilitator is a native Japanese person.

Career opportunities

Opportunities in hospitality, tourism, homestays, pilots, flight attendants,work experience overseas.

Outcomes

At the end of the 10 weeks you will be ready to travel and be able to read romanised Japanese names and place names, greet Japanese people, introduce yourself, asking the time and business hours, asking directions, ordering meals and shopping.

The Campus has two entrances, one on Nerang Street which takes you into the building on the ground floor and one on Scarborough Street where you are entering on the second floor.

Lightbulb students can park in the TAFE carpark BUT you must have your course confirmation with you EVERY week to receive the student discounted price.
