Gain knowledge of basic pattern making for stretch garments and cutting and assembling the garments. You will learn how to operate the industrial overlockers and straight sewers that you will use to assemble your garments. During the course you will make 3 skirts of different styles and 3 tee-shirts of different designs that will team with each other or mix and match. Time permitting; you will be able to make a free choice outfit using the skills gained throughout the course.

Student Instructions

NB: Covered / flat shoes MUST be worn.
Which fabric to bring will be discussed at the first class.
Please also bring:

• Pencil, pen, notepaper, ruler, eraser
• Pins
• Un-picker
• Tape measure
• Scissors for cutting paper
• Scissors for cutting fabric

Career Prospects

This short course could encourage students to increase on this knowledge by attending further courses, perhaps even enrol in the full time course: certificate 4 in applied fashion design and technology. Also making and selling clothing at local markets is a possibility.
