Drawing - Intermediate

Students will be challenged to explore the vibrancy of colour as well as black and white, using a variety of drawing media. Individual drawing techniques and styles will be consolidated and further explored. Colour theory will be covered to provide students with the knowledge to approach both still life and figure drawing. Final studio drawings will be developed from realism to semi abstraction.

Delivery Style

Hands on style combining demonstrations, data projection examples, whiteboard lecture discussions. Students will be drawing for most of each session time

Outcomes

This course will provide students with the full range of drawing styles and techniques, and extensive knowledge of colour media used in drawing. Students will be encouraged to explore their own individual drawing style. A range of preliminary drawings will precede 2 major completed drawings. Preliminary drawings will explore realism. Later drawings will develop realistic images to semi abstraction then abstraction.
