Student Instructions

Some materials are provided. For the first lesson, please bring

  • Good quality Taklon (nylon) fibre or natural (squirrel/ weasel) fibre brushes, sizes 14, 10, 6, 2 Round Head, one brush Flat Head sizes 14 or 16
  • Acrylic
  • A4 Pad for acrylic
  • Sketch paper
  • 1 sheet carbon paper
  • Plastic cup for water
  • Palette
  • HB pencil, rubber and pencil sharpener
  • Middle size wood chopping board or placemat
  • Other materials you should purchase will be demonstrated on the first lesson

Topics

Learn the process of painting on wood, understanding colour mixing and materials. Start with simple techniques such as “Gzhel”, “Khokhloma”.
