Drawing for Beginners

Learn about elements of art, including: tone, composition and spatial arrangement. Simple exercises, will show you tricks and techniques that will give your drawing impact. All levels accommodated. Skills learned can be used as a lead up to more advanced works. Subject matter will include still life and images based on individual selection
Entry Requirements
None – this course is for absolute beginners and for those wishing to develop their drawing further.
Student Instructions
Own materials required:
- A3 Sketch Book (Cartridge paper)
- A range of lead pencils approximately 6 + including H, HB, B,2B, 4B, 6B,8B.
- 1 Graphite Pencil
- 1 Compressed charcoal stick
- 1 Willow Charcoal Stick
- Art Eraser
- Metal Sharpener
- Ruler
- Paper stump

Tutorials on drawing implements, tonal rendering, positive and negative space, line work, spatial placement, perspective and colour will all be covered
