Embroidery - Basic Machine Care

Basic machine maintenance to improve machine performance, how to keep up with the day to day maintenance between services. Where, when and how to clean, oil, set tensions and ensure great stitching from your machine whether it be an embroiderer or quilter or general sewer. Understand the difference in tensions required for embroidery and sewing.

Full provisions of threads, needles, stabilisers and fabrics as well as course notes and other notions such as marker pens will be provided by ACCETT to each learner at the start of the course. They will be working with them but can use them on loan from the college for the duration of the course

Bring along note pad and pen, machine and all peripherals. Comfortable clothing and closed toe shoes.

  • Theory and practical : Understanding the balance between regular servicing and minor maintenance at home
  • Theory and practical : Where and when to clean strip and set below and behind the bobbin case.
