Acting for Stage or screen
Would you like to find out if you could cut it as an actor on the stage or screen? Then here’s your chance! Acting for Stage and Screen is a 10 week course that will take you on a journey where you’ll perform scenes and monologues, learn how to improvise, and engage an audience like a pro.

Discovering Classical Music
This program offers a simple and enjoyable introduction to the wonderful world of classical music. Particpants will learn about the great composers and their timeless musical masterpieces. They’ll learn about the instruments that make up a symphony orchestra and the roles of the conductor and soloists. They will hear some of the amazing stories behind works like Beethoven’s ‘Eroica’ Symphony and Tchaikovsky’s ‘Pathetique’ Symphony, the spine-tingling works of Paganini and the tragic life of Mozart, the composer who fathered twenty-one children and the composer whose most famous work is four minutes of total silence. Other topics covered include how to get the most out of your listening experiences at home, in a concert hall or in a theatre and how to build a collection of your own classical music on CD and DVD. The program is illustrated with a colourful computer presentation, dozens of carefully chosen recordings and excerpts from DVDs.

None, no prior knowledge of music, ability to read music or to play an instrument is required.

Singing beyond the shower
In this hands on course, you will have the opportunity to develop your voice beyond the basics. Beginning with breathing, pitch and aural training, we will advance to performance, recording/ stage work and healthy techniques to increase range, volume, correct pitch and intonation. You will learn about the music industry and what you need to be successful. There will be opportunities to perform both in a group and solo and have your performance critiqued and improved by an industry professional.
Entry Requirements
Previous vocal knowledge an asset but not essential.
This course would be suitable for both the beginner and the more advanced vocal student.
Student Instructions
Students need to bring a pen and notebook for notes.
Their instrument if they play one (and its portable).
Any repertoire they would like to work on.

The Art of Songwriting
There are no absolute rules or formula’s for songwriting, for every rule there is a song that broke the rule and succeeded, but there certainly are songwriting techniques that will help to bring out the best songwriter possible in you. ‘The Art of Songwriting’ will offer new approaches to songwriting, an understanding of the creative process and techniques to make your lyrics work. You will analyse popular songs, why they’re successful and look into the ‘business’ side of the music business. After 6 weeks, you will have a greater arsenal of songwriting tools and your own, original song recorded.

Basic musical knowledge and/or playing an instrument/singing an asset but not essential
Student Requirements
Students need to bring a pen and notebook for notes, their instrument if they play (and it’s portable), songs they have written in the past. Purchasing a Rhyming Dictionary/Thesaurus is not essential but is beneficial.
